Thanks to BMW ConnectedDrive, the internet can be used freely for the first time in an automobile. You can enter the address of any website you require or open a site directly using one of the favourite buttons. The iDrive controller in the central console functions in the same way as a standard computer mouse.

Mobile phone preparation with Bluetooth interface in the BMW 1 Series Coupé.

The cordless Bluetooth mobile phone means you can do away with the cumbersome cable between your mobile handset and the hands-free equipment. Bluetooth-compatible mobile phones register with the on-board computer via the optional interface as soon as the driver approaches the vehicle. Telephone numbers, addresses and call lists are then automatically synchronised with the on-board computer. During the journey, the mobile phone can be operated using the multifunction steering wheel or the hands-free equipment. There is a snap-in-adapter available for the Apple iPhone. You local BMW Service Centre will be happy to inform you of the mobile phones with which the Bluetooth interface is compatible.

Voice control in the BMW 1 Series Coupé.

An adjunct to the optional BMW Professional navigation system in the BMW 1 Series Coupé, Voice Control puts your words into instant action. It enables you to specify new destinations or play your favourite song by speech alone. It even offers a text-to-speech function that can read incoming emails, text messages and the name of radio stations aloud. Convenience, safety, comfort: Voice Control ensures that you are not distracted from the most important aspect of the BMW 1 Series Coupé - driving.

The optional navigation system Professional (incl. iDrive, radio Professional with DVD drive, Voice Control and a hard drive for maps and audio files for example) takes you where you want to go. Maps and directions are displayed on the high-resolution 8.8-inch screen either in 3D or using the split-screen mode. The optional navigation system Business (incl. iDrive and radio Professional with CD drive) displays arrows and maps to direct you to your destination on the 6.5-inch monitor.

Road networks are constantly changing: digital road maps for BMW navigation systems keep you informed of these changes and are available on CD or DVD twice a year.
